At both medical centres you may be offered an appointment at the minor illness clinic run by our advanced nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner will be responsible for taking history, examination, diagnosis and treatment for minor illnesses. They are also able to prescribe and will of course refer/discuss with a doctor when appropriate.
At present we have a team of practice nurses, all of whom can provide a variety of services. Their numerous tasks include infant and adult immunisations, cervical smears and family planning, dressings and removal of stitches, and clinics to monitor blood pressure, asthma cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Appointments may be made by phoning your surgery after 9.30am each morning
